ΙΕΡΟΠΑΙΔΑ (ALTAR BOYS)

The altar boys have the great privilege and opportunity to serve in the altar of the church during divine liturgies and special services throughout the ecclesiastical year. Representing the angels, altar boys aid the priest and or bishop to better serve the laity and God.  As such, the absence or presence of ιερόπαιδα or altar boys in a parish is strongly felt.  

With the blessing of your parish priest, boys ages 8 and older are welcome to serve as altar boys. Starting in October, new altar boys will receive a training seminar and throughout the year, all the boys will receive guidance on how to better serve, prepare and experience the role of the altar boy.  The boys will be divided in teams to better coordinate them and are encouraged to arrive no later than 10:15 a.m. to serve in the altar for Divine Liturgies. If an altar boy is in attendance and is not scheduled to serve, he is still welcome to enter the altar, as long as he meets the time requirement.

GREEK ORTHODOX YOUTH ASSOCIATION (GOYA)

GOYA is here to strengthen the relationship of young Greek Orthodox Christians with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. GOYA will help young members of the church to better understand and fully experience the Orthodox Christian Faith by actively participating in the life of the church. The youth will be involved in monthly discussions as well as social gatherings and DIAKONIA in order to establish a solid and safe foundation where our GOYA family can grow. It's a place where the youth can live and learn our Orthodox Faith while staying connected with one another and with the community.
